Windows update doesn't load

Question

I wanted to install a language package but download was stuck and it just said "pending", so I went to update windows but the window for windows 10 update doesn't load, so I decided to troubleshoot windows update but the the troubleshooter gets stuck on "checking for pending restart". what do I do?

Thanks for reponding. I think It's been like this for months. I started the services "Windows Update" And "Background Intelligent Trasfer Service". the problem still exist.

I ran "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth" but it gets struck at 62.3%.

I ran "sfc /scannow", it completed but said :

"Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.

For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at

windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline

repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag."

I ran the bat file in "Reset Windows Update Components" link and restarted the computer, but windows update still doesn't work. here's what it said when it was running:

Please let me know if you have tried the methods below.

**Make sure Windows Update and Background Intelligent Transfer services are available and running.

Click Start, type services.msc in the Start Search text area, and then click services.msc in the programs list. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.

Double-click Background Intelligent Transfer Service.

If the Startup status lists Stopped, click Start and then click OK. If the status is Running, right click then select Restart

Double-click Windows Update.

If the Startup status lists Stopped, click Start and then click OK. If the status is Running, right click then select Restart

**Please try to run SFC and DISM to check for any system errors and corrupted files.
