Dear Microsoft or whatever it is I should say today,

2 years ago, I built a Windows 10 Home PC meant for gaming, with its processor being an AMD Ryzen 5 5600G with Radeon Graphics, 3.90 GHz. The PC worked well, except for 1 flaw: Every month or so while I'm playing a game my controller stops working and I always get this according to Event Viewer:

I tried different controllers and even uninstalled the USB port (which was said to be USBXHCI according to the log), but still no dice. Is this a software or hardware issue?

    Hello, Ryan Woo-Ming

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

Thank you for your feedback. Based on your feedback, it is most likely a hardware issue, in order to test this, you can try the following:

    1. Unplug all the peripherals of your computer, long press the shutdown button for 40S, and let it sit for 10-15 to try again. After that reset your controller and try it according to your controller's manual.
    2. Replace your controller with a new one or try your controller on another computer.

If there is still a problem after testing, it means your controller has a hardware problem, we suggest you contact your controller manufacturer for repair or replace it with a new one.

I look forward to your feedback, which will help me pinpoint your problem.

    Best Regards,

    Aaron| Microsoft Community Support Specialist
