https://i.imgur.com/tBCEd2V.png The new text file icon disappeared. I reset notepad, no success. I restarted my computer, no success. I applied the latest Windows Update, no success. I uninstalled notepad++ just in case, no success.
I'm using Windows 11..
EDIT Ah I managed to fix it by playing with regedit, Microsoft should really hire more competent software engineers...

Hi Romain,
The association seems fine. Please try this.
Open admin PowerShell and run this command exactly.
get-appxpackage -allusers Microsoft.WindowsNotepad | remove-appxpackage -allusers
Press Enter.
Now, open Microsoft Store, search for Windows Notepad and install it.

If that doesn't help, open Default Apps, "Choose Defaults by file type".
Type ".txt"
Click on the .txt file entry.
Post a screenshot here.
