After formatting and changing my laptop's HDD, my laptop is asking for a Windows key to activate. I do not remember my Windows key and need help with activation. Without activation, I am unable to do a lot of things, such as changing the color to dark mode.

If the laptop was brand new when you bought it and pre-installed with Windows 10 then the manufacturer would have embedded the licence in the bios.

To check if there is a licence in the bios open PowerShell (Admin) and enter

wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey [press return] To check the product key displayed get ShowKeyPlus from the windows Store and enter the key into Check edition.

Does it confirm a Windows 10 licence in the detail.?

To get the windows license of your laptop you'll need to contact the manufacturer as these are activated under bulk license keys. So they may be able to provide you with an activation key.
