I have two computers, both running Win 11, but I can't network them. I keep getting error message that I don't have permission. Please help me!

My situation has changed a bit. I am now trying to network a Dell desktop all-in-1 (named PC1A) running Win 11 with a Dell Alienware R17 (named PC2) running Win 10. I have networked both computers and shared files and even the C; drive on each. The Dell R17 does see not see PC1A and the PC2 sees the Pc1a but asks for a network credentials.

Additionally, I had OneDrive loaded on PC1A. It filled up to the point that the computer wouldn't let me continue until I cleared up some space. I did that. I also unlinked OneDrive but then the files and apps on my computer were not available. I relinked OneDrive and now there are two icons in the File Explorer Tree. They both report that I have surpassed my limit. There are many icons with little red x's on them. Even though I deleted most of the files in OneDrive-on several occasions-but they keep coming back.

Please help me. I am more frustrated than ever to the point that I'm thinking about going the Apple way.

    Thanks.

    Hello,Clarence Blair

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft community.

Don't worry, we are here to assist you.

You mentioned that you are getting a no permission error message when you network two computers, your description is rather general and we encourage you to share more information to help determine this.

    • Are you networking both computers separately, but neither can connect to the network? Or are you trying to set up shared files or set up network services in a specific application?
    • We cannot rule out the possibility that there may be a security setting on the network itself that prevents you from accessing a specific network, have you tried connecting to another network?

I suggest you share a screenshot of the error message that pops up with me and I will help you look into the specific issue.

You can share some information in this thread and I will answer your questions further. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

    Best Regards,

    Rota|Microsoft Community Support Specialist
