Printer status not updating

I have approximately 20 printers installed and shared on a new Windows Server 2019 computer. When a printer has a fault, such as no more paper or a paper jam, the status of the printer in Print Management changes to reflect this and it holds the jobs in the queue, as it is supposed to do. However, once the issue is resolved on the printer, the status does not change back to Ready as it is supposed to, and all the jobs continue to be held until I restart the Print Spooler service on the server.

This has happened on this computer since it was installed a few months ago. We did not have this problem on our previous print server which was running on Windows Server 2012 R2, set up the exact same way.

Any suggestion on how to force the server to properly reset to Ready after the fault has been cleared on the printer?

    Hello @Aaron Stamboulieh

According to this thread: Printer Server status does not refresh

Windows incorrectly reporting the printer status when SNMP was enabled on the printer port also. If you're not specifically using SNMP, you can disable it in the "Configure Port" settings for the Printer's TCP/IP port.
