Disable additional Audio Device Properties Levels Slider

I have recently seen a new slider show up in the "Levels" tab of my audio device properties. This levels slider is called "Main Volume". This slider adjusts in real time with the actual volume slider above, for example, if I adjust my actual slider volume above to 50%, the "Main Volume" slider automatically adjusts with it to 14%. This is leading to issues of extremely low volume. The only time that this level hits 100%, is if the main levels slider is adjusted to 100%, (It feels like is scales automatically on a logarithmic scale if that makes sense). I have been unable to find anything at all online regarding this issue and it just showed up today with the new Teams application (From Teams Classic).

On Windows 11
Exact location: Sound Settings -> More Sound Settings -> "Playback Tab" Right click headset device and select "Properties" -> Select "Levels" tab within properties

Unsuccessful steps for resolution:

  • Uninstall headset device from device manager, unplug/replug to re-install/re-initialize
  • Ensure drivers are up to date for headset device
  • Restart laptop
  • Push any pending Windows updates via powershell (Get-WindowsUpdate -AcceptAll -Install)
  • Reset sound devices and volumes for all apps to the recommended defaults in Volume Mixer
  • Disable all other sound output devices (Onboard laptop speakers)
  • Disable exclusive mode in sound device properties for headset device
  • Enable/Disable mono sound mode in Windows Sound settings
  • Test an entirely different audio device (Different make model, known working on other machines, etc.) | Issues persisting
  • Uninstall/Re-install Teams
  • Uninstall/Re-install Teams and restart laptop
  • Install rollback version of teams
  • Ensure all browsers are up to date
  • Ensure all applications are up to date and restart laptop
  • Ensure no unknown services are running in task manager
  • Ensure no additional audio software is installed on machine
  • Test device on a different machine | Does not persist or show up on a different machine

Has anyone ever encountered this and may know a fix?

I have a screen shot of the visual that I am seeing, it is recreated from my home computer as this occurred on a company device and I don't want any potential metadata attached. Screenshot was re-created exactly to what I am seeing in the Audio Device Properties.

    Hello, Frank Nowak1

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

Hello, thank you for your feedback. It seems that you are experiencing an abnormal adjustment of the audio setting slider.

I have conducted a test for you, and it seems that this new slider adjustment function does not appear in my own win11 computer. I think this function is related to the version of the sound card driver. You can press win+x to select Device Manager to open it, find your sound card driver, right-click to select properties, and provide your driver version here, so that we can study for you.

In addition, the driver version of your other normal computer can also be provided as an auxiliary reference. As well as the system version of your computer, you can refer to the link below

I also noticed that you mentioned that this seems to be the case with teams, but is it the case with other software?

You can provide some of the above information here, thank you for your patience and cooperation.

    Best regards
