If you purchased Windows 10 directly from Microsoft, then that licence is linked to your Microsoft account online and if you clean install Windows on your new hardware, it should activate automatically once you sign into Windows with the same Microsoft account you used to purchase that licence.
Windows Acctivation
I built a new PC in 2015 or there abouts and when I left Australia for the Uk I gave my mum that PC and installed her storage drives in it after taking mine out.
I am about to build myself a new PC and use the storage drives from the old build. The SSD has Windows already installed on it, can I use that windows without having to get a new copy?
Microsoft used to allow you to use old windows keys when you were upgrading systems, is this still the case?
My next problem is I have 2 copies of WIN 10 Pro one on disc and one on USB, I am fairly confident that the USB one is the one on my drive but I wouldn't know until the PC is built and the drive installed.

2024-07-14T14:05:14+00:00 Hello. You will not know for sure untill you do it. The privacy laws for UK are .... diffrent than AU law. UK privacy laws is the strongest / most strict in the entire world. You learn this very quickly writing your own privacy policies for each country. I actually agree with UK privacy laws because it protects the consumer. I know it would be a extra cost but I would look in stores for a Windows "Home" installation disk just because of the embedded UK EULA. The Pro versions have bitlocker and I am not a fan of bit-locked hard disks as they would take years n years to unlock if you loose the key. In the end it is up to you but that is what I would do. Unless there is something you must have on Pro vs Home of course.

2024-07-14T13:58:29+00:00 Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.
Where did you get your Windows licence was that pre-installed on the PC or did you purchase a full retail Windows licence from Microsoft or from a 3rd party retailer, and if so, do you have the product key?
Or is your Windows licence based on a previous Windows 7 or 8 licence?
