I reinstalled windows on my computer recently, and now my microphone is stuck on headphone mode

Oh also I just realized that what I had said in the first message was incorrect. Specifically "listen to this microphone" is stuck on, changing what microphone the computer is using doesn't seem to do anything. I've also tried unplugging it and plugging it back in as that did fix the issue on the past, but it's had no effect this time around. Also I'm not sure why I said the incorrect information at first, I was pretty tired so maybe that was why. Either way, I apologize.
Ok, I've tried that. But the problem continues to persist
Try open Start and go to Settings and click on System -> Sound.
In Sound settings, go to Input and in the Choose your input device and change it to the one you want.
Ok, I've tried that, but the problem seems to remain.
Since this is a new install, firstly run Windows Update and download and install all updates and restart your PC.
When all updates have been installed, then try again.
