My buddy bought a pre built pc, his graphics card wouldn't run a specific game so he bought the exact same amd xfx graphics card just a more powerful version so we installed it into his pc, at first everything was fine and he was able to run the game perfectly but after about a week the game started crashing, now ever since then 90% of his games crash after playing for about 10 to 20 mins. When it crashes it crashes to black screen, the lights on his pc stay on and the screen stays black until the computer is restarted manually, I’ve tried updating bios, uninstalling and reinstalling windows 11 and the graphics drivers, over locking and under locking the gpu, changing the max mhz of the gpu ect. Watched temps and nothing seems to be overheating, the only thing I am left to believe is maybe his power supply unit isn’t powerful enough for the graphics card but even with that being said after looking into the specs of everything his psu should be able to run that graphics card perfectly fine. I am completely stumped and at a loss of solutions please help me help him Lol

    Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

    Please clarify the following:

    What is the manufacturer and model of the graphics card? (Example: Asus DUAL-RX7900GRE-O16G)

    What is the wattage of the power supply?

    Also, export and share the log for analysis:

    1. Press "Windows + X" and select "Event Viewer";
    2. Expand "Windows Logs" and select "System";
    3. In the "Actions" panel on the right, select "Filter Current Log";
    4. In "Event level", check the boxes "Critical", "Warning", and "Error" and click on "Ok";
    5. Again, in the "Actions" panel, select "Save Filtered Log File As" and save in an easily accessible place.

    Then, upload the file to the cloud (OneDrive), choose to share it, and get the link.

    Post the link to the file here so I can have a look.

    I await your reply. Click on the "Reply" button below my reply.
