I've cloned my old SSD to a new bigger capacity SSD. After the swapping the new SSD, I keep getting random freezes and BSOD. Tried uninstalling GPU driver with DDU and do a clean driver install from official Dell GPU Driver. Also, reinstall my audio driver. Still getting random freezes and BSOD. I'm getting CLOCK_WATHCDOG_TIMEOUT error. Not sure what to do from here.

Thanks for the clarification.

In this case, try performing an In-place Upgrade. This procedure reinstalls Windows, which helps to fix problems, including corrupted files.

But don't worry. It's a simple procedure, and you have the option to keep files, settings, and apps. Therefore, all your data is kept.

Instructions below:

  1. Download the Windows 11 ISO file from the link below;

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

  1. Double-click the ISO to run;

(After running the ISO, you may need to double-click the "Setup" file to start the procedure.)

  1. On the "Install Windows 11" screen, uncheck "I want to help make the installation of Windows better" and select "Change how Windows Setup download updates";
  2. On the next screen, select "Not right now" and click "Next";
  3. Accept the terms of use;
  4. On the "Ready to install" screen, select "Choose what to keep" and select what you want to keep.

(In this step, select "Keep personal files and apps" so that all your data is kept.)

  1. Click "Install" and wait for the procedure to finish. Your computer may restart several times.

Let's see how the system will behave after this procedure.

If you get any errors, let me know. Click on the "Reply" button below my reply.

    Hi David!

    Just an update, I haven't had any issues so far with the upgrade. We managed to solve the BSOD with an in-place upgrade. However, after monitoring for an hour or two, I encountered the freezing issue again. I searched for a fix on YouTube and found this solution:

    "Try going to the BIOS (or UEFI) by booting up with F12. Look for a 'Performance' setting and turn off the options to enable Speedstep Technology, C-State Control, and Turbo Boost."

    This fix solved the freezing issue, and I haven't encountered any freezing problems with my Windows for a day now. Just leaving this fix here in case someone else encounters this issue.

    By the way, thank you for assisting me with my problems. I wouldn't have known how to troubleshoot my laptop without your help.

    Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

    The minidumps do not mention any driver. Only generic system files.

    I suggest doing the following:

    • Download the latest chipset driver from the link below and install it.

    https://dl.dell.com/FOLDER10140261M/7/Intel-Chi...

    (Run the downloaded EXE file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver.)

    Then, see if the system will work stable.

    If the BSOD occurs again after doing this, share the minidump created by it. Click on the "Reply" button below my reply.
