That is great news, I am glad this is resolved, great troubleshooting!
Can't activate windows again.
I have bought a new CPU and motherboard, I went to settings, activation, troubleshoot, And I constantly get an error "oops, something went wrong!" I can't reactivate windows for myself AT ALL. I couldn't log into my PC for 3 years now and I still can't, but how I **really** need to for Windows activation, any help, please?

Where did you get your Windows licence was that pre-installed on the PC or did you purchase a full retail Windows licence from Microsoft or from a 3rd party retailer, and if so, do you have the product key?
Or is your Windows licence based on a previous Windows 7 or 8 licence?

Download the free ShowKeyPlus app from the Microsoft Store.
Please provide a screenshot of what that app indicates, and please hide any product key that may be visible in the screenshot.
