My son upgraded and gave me his Windows 11 HP laptop. I started it up to find he had switched it to Linux. I made a Windows 11 boot drive, got process started but when I got to "Where do you want to install Windows?", it says "We couldn't find any drives." I can't deal with Linux. Please help!

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

That is a common problem if there is an Intel processor on the laptop, go to the support page for that laptop on the HP website, then from the chipset section, download the Intel RST driver installer.

Extract out the drivers from that installer into a new folder on the bootable USB you are using to install Windows, then when you reach the part where you cannot see the drive, click the option to load a driver from that new folder.
