I just put in a bios password for my dell latitude 7280 and I double checked I wrote the right words and wrote it on a piece of paper so I know what it is if I eventually forget, as soon as I did this my laptop restarted when I exited bios as usual, did the bios password screen thing to access the system I put the code in and it doesn't work, I try every combination of the password it doesn't work how do I get back into my system without contacting dell support cause they require 'proof of ownership' and apparently an email saying I bought it isn't enough ownership evidence

    Hello, this is Emily.

I assisted you yesterday and advised that this issue should be directed to Dell. The BIOS is the motherboard firmware and is independent of Windows, so only Dell can provide the appropriate support. If Dell is unable to assist, no other sources will be able to. Additionally, if anyone from a Windows forum attempts to help by bypassing Dell's security measures, it would be a violation of our community's code of conduct and considered tampering.

I am sorry, you will hav to keep working with Dell until they approve your proof of ownership. This is not a Windows or Microsoft issue. Sorry.
