ok so just like the title says my data d drive has a blue question mark next to it and it won't open. whenever i right click it, i cant check properties or anything and im really scared to lose this drive because i have almost everything on it

i've tried chkdsk d: /r /scan on command prompt, but it just tells me i can't open volume for direct access. same thing with chkdsk d: /scan

help would be appreciated

(i have the exact same problem as the person in threadhttps://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/internal-d-drive-has-a-blue-question-mark/ed952011-3404-4070-9af1-3aa1c68d08cf but i can't see the drive in device manager)

You created a shortcut to your D: drive, but the shortcut does not point to a destination that File Explorer can find.

Is your DATA drive a separate physical hard drive (as is mine) or is your DATA drive a separate partition on a physical drive with other partitions?

A screenshot of Disk Management could be helpful.
