good day! Dear colleagues, I have a question about the limitations of USB tokens connected to the Windows operating system.

I have a department in my organization that interacts with banks via the Internet, and gets access to them via USB tokens. There are a lot of tokens, about 100 or more, and all of them are connected to local computers. In view of the fact that many have gone to work remotely, we are considering the option of forwarding these tokens over the local network, as a solution we chose SEH equipment.

Tokens from it are connected normally, but we ran into the limit with 10 keys that our application sees, and as it turned out, this is an explicit limitation of Windows Server 2016.

I read that in the seven the limit was 32 devices, in view of this, my question is how you can increase this parameter at your own peril and risk, maybe it is set somewhere in the Windows registry or install a special driver? Any help would be appreciated.
Maybe Microsoft has a solution to a similar problem?

    Hi,

After research, I didn't find a way to increase the smart card limit. Generally, the Windows limit is build-in, we are unable to change it. If you want to give it a try, you may open a case with MS, check if there's any elegant way to increase the limit.

Below is the link to open a case with MS:

    Thanks for your time!
    Best Regards,
    Anne
