My lock screen stopped asking if I like the photo and isn't giving me information about the photos anymore. I want to turn the feature back on. I have not made any changes to turn off the feature.

    Hello Brandy,

My name is Gunasekar. I'm an Independent Advisor and I'll be glad to help you today.

I understand that you are having issues with Windows Spotlight images which no longer display the "Like What You See" option on the lock screen.

    1. Ensure you have enabled Windows Spotlight on the Lockscreen background settings.

    • Go to Settings > Personalization > Lock Screen > Personalize your Lock screen > Select Windows Spotlight.

    1. If you have enabled this feature already, but it no longer displays the option, try running a system scan.

Run a System Scan - System File Checker is a utility in Windows that checks for problems with files on your computer. To run it, follow these steps:

    • In the search box on the taskbar, type command prompt, right-click and "Select Run as administrator", and then select Yes.

    • Type or Paste the Command lines one by one and click enter. (Note: Each command may take a few minutes to start and complete. Do not copy-paste the commands all at once)

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    sfc /scannow

    • After you see a message that says, "Verification 100% complete," type exit and press Enter.

    • Restart your PC and check your Lock screen.

    1. If that didn't help, try the solution suggested by "CalC411" in the below discussion thread.

    • That is, In Personalization->Lock Screen settings change Background to Picture. Minimise this window.

    • Go to the following folder then move them to the Recycle Bin and permanently delete:

(Make sure you select view > Hidden items check box to view AppData folder)

    C:\Users\USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_<somerandomcharacters>\Settings

    (Delete the settings folder)Next,

    • Expand the window with the Personalization->Lock Screen settings. Change Background back to Windows Spotlight.

    • Close all windows - sign out, sign back in again

I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let me know and I will be happy to help you further.

    Best regards,

    Gunasekar N
