When I try to switch out of s mode it says there’s an error and it can’t be upgraded. When I press try again it doesn’t work. How do I fix this so I can switch out of s mode?

I'm sorry to hear that the issue persists. Several users are reporting the same issue, and it seems like a server problem. Similar to what the other users experienced, it worked when tried another time. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

If you want to get out of Safe Mode immediately, I suggest doing a clean installation of Windows: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

Before proceeding, make sure to back up all your important files and if you have any questions, please let me know. Thank you.

None of those worked. This is a brand new hp laptop. I made sure everything was updated and I reseted the windows store many times. When I press the “Get” button it changes to “Try again” with a message that says “Something happened and we couldn’t start the upgrade”

Hi. My name is Lester, and I am an Independent Advisor. I'm sorry that you are experiencing this issue. I'd be more than happy to assist you.

To avoid repetition, what troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

Check and try the options you haven't tried yet below:

    1. Please try resetting the Windows Store:

Type cmd in the Windows Search box

Right-click on Command Prompt and Run As Administrator

    Type 'WSreset.exe' and hit Enter

Reboot your computer and then try to exit safe mode again:

    1. Press the Windows key + R to open the run dialog box.

    Type: msconfig then click Enter

    Choose the Boot tab

Uncheck Safe Boot, click Apply then OK

    Choose General tab

    Tick Normal startup

    Click OK then apply

    1. Update Windows: Settings > System > Windows Update > Check Windows Update > Apply all pending Update.

I hope this information is helpful. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any more questions. Thank you
