Hi Colton, I am John J.D., a fellow Microsoft user like you.
I understand you're having issues with your touchpad. I'm here to help. If one of the I2C HID devices is showing an error, it’s likely due to a driver issue or a conflict within the system. As for why there are two devices, if the touchpad driver fails or becomes corrupted, Windows might install a new I2C HID Device.
Here’s what you can do to resolve the issue:
First, check if there is an F function key (from F1 to F12) to disable or enable the touchpad. You can press the FN key + that F function key, or just the function key if FN lock (FN + Esc) is enabled.
You can also manually reinstall the driver from the Device Manager:
> Right-click the Start and select "Device Manager."
> Expand Human Interface devices. Right-click the I2C HID Device that has error and select "Update driver."
> Click "Browse my computer for drivers."
> Click "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer."
> Click the driver listed under Model. Click "Next" to install and click "Close."
If the issue persists, please visit your PC manufacturer's support page for your specific model and download the most recent and recommended BIOS and touchpad drivers.
