in built camera does not work

Question

Camera light is on but when opened the background is grey with a camera icon and one line going through it. There is no image on either the photo or video. I have tried using my F8 button but this doesn't work. I have the latest drivers and I have checked my Antivirus as well as ticking all apps can use camera. I have also tried turning off without the power cord for 30 seconds and still nothing. Please help

Hi Dave, I have pressed both the Fn+F8 and still nothing. When I press these keys do I press it on top of the camera icon with the line through it or do I move the curser to the right hand side and press the Fn+F8 buttons where the video and camera buttons are?

May I know when did the issue start? Is there any changes made before you got this issue?

Please send the make and model of your device. (Please press Windows key + R and type msinfo32 and hit enter, look for system model)

1. Kindly check the upper part of your keyboard and see if there's a button to enable your camera.
2. Please check the upper part or side of your camera if there's a switch or slider that you can use to enable the camera.
3. Please check the side of your laptop if there's a switch to turn on the camera.

If the F8 key is not working, try pressing Fn + F8

If that was not the problem, look at the camera lens above your screen, is there a privacy slider that needs to be opened to access the webcam?
