Welcome to the Microsoft Community!
Thank you for your feedback. I read the information you provided. You mentioned that you want to stop the automatic download of Windows 11 updates and recover the lost space occupied by downloaded files.
I understand your current problem, please don't worry, you can pause the update and delete the downloaded files by following these methods.
- Open the Settings app. Go to “Update and Security”. Select “Windows Update” from the left sidebar. Click Advanced Options. Under the “Choose how to install updates” section, select “Notify scheduled restarts” or “Notify downloads” to have more control over updates.
- To recover the lost space, go to the folder where the downloaded Windows 11 installation files are stored (usually located in the Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download folder) and delete them manually.
I hope this information has been helpful. If you have any questions, please let me know and I'll be happy to help you further.
Best regards
