Microsoft edge Chromium - default settings (users can override) GPO policy is not working

Hello Everyone,

I am using edge ADMX policy template to configure startup page to my company site. This is working in mandatory policy but not working in recommended (user can over ride) Not sure what i am missing here. Please guide me to right steps to achieve this requirement.

1.User can override policy GPO has been configured

This is by design. Default settings (users can override) means the user setting in Edge browser "..."->settings->On startup takes a higher priority. The group policies set under Microsoft Edge - Default Settings (users can override) folder are just recommended settings, users can override them in Edge browser settings. So if users have different settings in Edge browser, the group policies under Microsoft Edge - Default Settings (users can override) folder won't take effect.

If you want policies to take effect all the time and override user settings, please set the policies under Microsoft Edge folder.

Hi,
Something of note, for anyone else ending up at the page, what we found is you get one chance for the "users can override" Home page. once you set it and the policy applies, you can never change it, you have to move the config to the section that users can't override to get it to update. E.G. we had ours configured for our intranet page, 6 months down the track, the name of the page changed but the only way to update edge for our users was to use the setting where uses cannot set their own Home page (MS Edge v93.x)
