I turned my laptop on this morning to find it chugging and almost falling over. I am in the middle of a large render process and running close to my maximum disk space.
After investigating why it was chugging along, I found Windows did an automatically installation of Microsoft Clipchamp 2 days ago which is 5.02GB in size.
I never consented to this being installed on MY equipment.
I have turned off automatic updates to stop this happening. Yet every time I turn auto updates off, and then manually update for security patches, you decide to turn auto updates back on as part of the update process.
How do I stop this? I am sick of it. I run a small business and losing days at a time because windows thinks they can just interrupt my work flow to start installing software on my hardware without any consent is costing me significant amounts of money.

By default, win 11 update auto updates only critical win updates, and nothing else unless you have made the mistake of selecting the "Get latest updates" option, and if you have turn it off. (It includes drivers)
You obtain both Bios & Drivers updates from the PC Maker, there should be a shortcut on your system to that makers update utility, and no other source.
Then set Bios to Defaults & Pwr to balanced.
At the end of the day shutdown, do NOT leave in sleep
