This needs to be fixed ASAP. People have financial information on their computers, your lack of fixing these problems. Will Microsoft pay for losses incurred because of these vulnerable issues you have created? Need Windows to work.

    Hello, ALANLUPINETTI.

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I noticed that your update installation failed.

You could try resetting the update or installing it manually.

Here's how to reset the update:

"Win" + "Q" opens Windows search.

Type "CMD" and right-click to open it as an administrator.

Enter each of the following commands and press Enter after each one.

    net stop wuauserv

    rd /s /q %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution

    net start wuauserv

    Then attempt to update.

Here's how to manually download updates.

Here is the download link, make sure you select the right version for your system:

    Microsoft Update Catalog

    Search by the KB number.

Once downloaded, open the file to proceed with the installation.

If there are any updates, please feel free to reply.

    Best regards.

    Hello, ALANLUPINETTI.

    Thanks for your reply.

Some third-party software may also alter certain settings, leading to this issue. If you're unsure of how to revert changes made by a software, you might want to try the following method.

"Win" + "Q" opens Windows search.

Type "CMD" and right-click to open it as an administrator.

Enter each of the following commands and press Enter after each one.

    reg delete "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies" /f

    reg delete "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost" /f

    reg delete "HKCU\Software\Policies" /f

    reg delete "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Policies" /f

    reg delete "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies" /f

    reg delete "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WindowsCurrentVersion\WindowsStore\WindowsUpdate" /f

    reg delete "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost" /f

    reg delete "HKLM\Software\Policies" /f

    reg delete "HKLM\Software\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Policies" /f

    reg delete "HKLM\Software\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies" /f

    reg delete "HKLM\Software\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsStore\WindowsUpdate" /f

    RD /S /Q "%WinDir%\System32\GroupPolicyUsers"

    RD /S /Q "%WinDir%\System32\GroupPolicy"

    gpupdate /force

Before executing the command, please back up the registry to prevent new issues from arising.

Disclaimer: Generally, modifying registry subkeys or work group is intended for advanced users, administrators, and IT Professionals. It can help fix some problems, however, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully.
