Multiple Kernel 219 Errors when using One-Note or screen capturing

Hello. I am having trouble with my work-appointed laptop. I work as a teacher and we have Microsoft Surfaces. On occasion, when I am either screen recording with Screencastify or using One-note (while using Airtame) , the laptop will completely freeze. The only thing that gets it working again is a power shutdown and restart. I have been dealing with this for awhile and I have already tried asking the IT at my school. They were no help.

I had this issue on my person Surface a few years ago and was able to fix it, but cannot remember exactly how. I am pretty sure it was with my drivers (maybe USB). I don't have admin access so I cannot do anything myself. I am looking for a concrete solution to give the IT people so that they can fix this for good.

Here is the exact errors I am getting, in the order they happen:

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device HID\VEN_8086&DEV_A0D0&SUBSYS_00561414&REV_20&Col09\4&118ccbb9&0&0008.

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device HID\HID_DEVICE_SYSTEM_VHF\6&195f13a0&0&0000.

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device {98DE32A9-5D44-419E-B67D-66072BCEF58B}\SurfaceSarManager\3&9c21b90&0&SID_DEVICE_04.

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device HID\Vid_8087&Pid_0AC2\6&122942c4&0&0000.

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device DISPLAY\LGD0555\4&de0e589&0&UID8388688.

These all happen within about 5-10 seconds of one-another.

Please let me know what other information I can get for you without having admin access. Thank you for your time and I appreciate any help given.

    Hello,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

As you can see from the screenshot you provided, there are records of DriverFrameworks, which are described as Startup of the UMDF refl.

This is related to PNP (plug and play) device drivers, and as you can imagine, the problem is most likely related to the USB port on the Surface.

I recommend that you first consider contacting IT to update your Surface firmware driver, which can be done via the following link:

Download drivers and firmware for Surface - Microsoft Support

This site is a guided support page to assist you with firmware and driver updates from the beginning of step 1.

If your IT staff has a fair amount of Surface experience, it's more efficient to pull down the support page directly to the manual update step, which directly selects the Surface model and lists what can be updated by model.

When your Surface is finished with all the updates, try the screenshots again.

If anything is unclear, please feel free to let us know.

    Regards,
