Photo Gallery Shadow

I use windows photo gallery in Windows 10. I've wondered why there is a small shadow on the right and lower sides of my pictures when I view them. I think it's to project the photo when you view it. This has been that way since I upgraded to Windows 10 years ago. Is there a way to eliminate this?

Hi DaveinWinston1,

Thank you for the screenshot information.

In Photo Gallery, the shadows on the lower side and right side of the image are by design and cannot be removed.

Maybe you're a very nostalgic user, and even though Photo Gallery is still available on Windows 10 after you've deployed it on your computer in some way, But please allow me to recommend the "Photos" App that is currently widely used in Windows10 and Windows 11, which can often be used as the first choice for viewing pictures:

When using it, you will notice that the image does not show shadows on the lower and right side when displayed.

Best regards,

    Hi Mitchell,

Thank you very much for the information. I've used the "photos" app before and that was my next step if I hadn't heard back on my question. I think that's what I'll be doing now. I appreciate the response!

    Have a good day!

    Dave

Thank you for your response, Mitchell. Please see the screenshot. This is the way all of the photos that I view show on Photo Gallery. It's more apparent with this screen shot, but all of the photos I view have this small gray lining on the bottom and right sides.

Thank you for looking into this.

    Dave
