    Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

    Open the Settings App.

    Go to Apps - Installed Apps

    Scroll down to find the Microsoft Photos app

    Select that app and choose 'Advanced Options'

    Run the repair option, then run the reset option

    Then check if you can open jpg images.
