Hi,

Last week, I could put many images or PDF files on the whiteboard, but I can't now. The error message below appears after I select a photo or PDF file. The image was a PNG file. What do you suggest I do to fix this problem?

Hi, LMAvcu

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

We understand that you are experiencing problems with Microsoft Whiteboard not working properly, we suggest you try:

  1. Uninstall and reinstall

Uninstall Microsoft Whiteboard and go to: Digital Online Whiteboard App | Microsoft Whiteboard | Microsoft 365 to redownload it.

If the above options do not work, you can try again:

I. Perform a clean boot

Do the following

  1. Tap Windows+R and type msconfig
  2. Open System Configuration and select General tab - Selective Startup.
  3. Remove the checkbox of Load startup items.
  4. Go to the Services tab - click Hide all microsoft services in the lower left corner, and then click Disable all.
  5. Click OK and restart your computer. (Be sure to select Hide all Microsoft services first and then click Disable all, otherwise it may cause unforeseen problems such as not being able to access the system.)

See if the problem still recurs.

NOTE: Clean boot is a way to start Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that you can determine if background programs are interfering with your games or programs and help you figure out the cause of the problem. It will help you get back on track.

Disclaimer: A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. It helps to determine whether a background service is interfering with your game or program and to isolate the cause of a problem.

These steps of "clean boot" might look complicated at first glance. However, to avoid any trouble for you, please follow them in order and step-by step so that it will help you get back on track.

II. Try to repair your system

  1. Search for CMD, find Command Prompt and select Run in Administrator Mode.
  2. Enter the following commands one by one, be sure to execute the next command after the previous one is completed. DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth SFC /Scannow
  3. After the scan is complete, you can check the scan information to see if the problem has been detected and fixed.

Meanwhile, this may also be caused by network problems, you can try:

I. Reset Network Settings

Tap windows+R key, type inetcpl.cpl, open Internet Options, click Advanced and check "Use SSL 3.0", "Use TLS 1.0", "Use TLS 1.1", "Use TLS 1.2", reboot the computer after applying them to see if the problem can be solved.

II. Reset Proxy Server Settings

Click windows+R, type inetcpl.cpl, open Internet Options, click Connections, click LAN Settings, check whether the Proxy Server column is checked, if so, uncheck it and click OK, restart your computer after applying it to see if the problem can be solved.

III.Change DNS

  1. Click windows+R and type ncpa.cpl.
  2. Click on the name of the network you are currently connected to, open the Network Status window, click Properties, and then double-click Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) in the Network Properties window.
  3. Manually set the DNS servers to "4.2.2.1" and "4.2.2.2" and restart the computer to see if the problem is solved.

Sincerely

    Hi,

I "performed a clean boot," but now I have a new problem. My wireless mouse, keyboard and graphics pen intermittently disconnect, and I cannot reconnect them or even remove the device from the device list. I found a temporary solution by using a wired mouse, uninstalling the Bluetooth driver, and then pairing the devices again. However, they are still disconnecting unexpectedly.

I followed every step of your instructions, but after I restarted it, I opened msconfig again, and without changing any settings, I clicked restart. What do you think I did wrong?
