Hi,

I currently have 2 HYPER-V on Windows server 2012 R2 and 2 HYPER-V on Windows server 2019.
Each physical server is equipped with 1gb / s network cards

When I configure a teaming between 2 cards under Windows server 2012 R2, I have a teaming at 2gb / s. Same for Windows server 2019.

But when I create an external virtual switch on this teaming in 2012 R2, it shows me a speed of 10gb / s while it remains at 2Gb / s in 2019.

Do you have any idea why do I have this difference between the 2 operating systems?

Thanks for your help

Hi,

Thanks for posting in Q&A platform.

The speed of external virtual switch is based on the bandwidth of the physical network adapter. After we configuring the Teaming between 2 network adapters, the speed pf our network adapters will achieve 2GB/s. In Windows server 2012 R2, although the speed is displayed as 10 GB/s, the actual speed is still 2 GB/s. For the speed of external virtual switch in Windows server 2019, the result is displayed correctly. I think it is repaired by product team and displays as the correct speed.

Hope my answer will help you.

Best Regards,
Sunny
