Question Regarding Win 11 update

Hello,

I recently mistakenly opted for the free upgrade to Windows 11 by clicking "yes". However, I haven't proceeded with the update as I didn't want it in the first place. Now, I find myself constantly prompted to restart my computer and update to Windows 11, version 22H2, with the status showing as "pending restart." How can I eliminate this option/request from appearing on my Windows update screen?

I think it's worth mentioning that alongside this, I am always given the option to "update and shut down" or "update and restart."

Thank you.

    Hi,

I'm Rodrigo and I'll help you.

Open the task manager > Services tab > Open Services > Locate "Windows Update" on the list, right-click it, and select "Stop" (if it is greyed out, it is already stopped).

Go to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download and delete all files inside the folder.

Restart the computer. (Not "Update and restart")

This will remove the Windows 11 update files and it will return to only offer the Windows 11 upgrade.
