Browsers not opening

Since the last time I restarted my computer, every browser I’ve opened except for Edge (Chrome and Firefox) has closed immediately. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling them multiple times, and restarting my computer. There was a post about this problem on the Microsoft forums a few years ago, but following the fix there didn’t do anything. The first time I try each time I restart, the browser opens for a couple seconds, but immediately closes (no error message). After that, attempts to open just don’t do anything.

Did a scan with the antivirus I use, nothing brought up.

Uninstalled antivirus and restarted, no change.

Installed malwarebytes and did a scan, nothing again.

Doing a clean boot let me open it, but it closed after a couple of seconds, and when I tried again it was back to not opening at all.

Sorry for the late reply. Please let me know if you have tried the methods below.

If you have a third-party VPN or Antivirus installed, please try to temporarily uninstall it first then check if the issue persists.

    1. Please try to scan your computer for any virus or malware.

Please try to scan your system using Microsoft Safety Scanner or the free edition of Malwarebytes.

    1. Perform a Clean Boot

Determine if a background program or a software conflict is causing the issue.

Press Start then search and type: msconfig

Select System Configuration > go to the Services tab.

Select and make sure to put a check mark on "Hide all Microsoft services"

    Click Disable all.

Go to Startup tab > Open Task Manager > Disable all the unnecessary services running there. Restart your computer.

Kindly check the support article below for more details

Kindly let me know if this helps or if you have any further concerns.

It was working fine earlier in the day, then I turned my computer off and when I turned it on again a couple hours later, I was having the problem.

    No changes recently.
