I've tried these steps already to no avail. Also, the external drives it attached to are brand new.

I've noticed that my windows back up has been stuck for about 14 hrs now at 12% complete. It never takes this long and I don't know what the roblem is. I've stopped it and started back twice now and have restarted my computer each time to no avail. Any help or insight would be appreciated.

I use a dedicated third party image utility, so dont use win backup, if its backing up to external does that device have a problem?
Then run the sfc/dism process
