Can I get the output from Computer Vision API in docx format for further editing with MS Word?

Thanks for reaching out to us. To get output directly to docs format is not supported now. But if you want to do it, you can use logic app to connect the API with Words, so that the logic app can transfer your output to docx format .

Thanks for your help, but this is not a solution for me. I need a tool that will keep the layout and format of the scanned document and will run locally on my PC.

Are you doing Form extraction? If yes, https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/services/cognitive-services/form-recognizer/ Form recognizer will be a better choice. It can keep the layers.
