Problem with windows apps - msvcp140 and vcruntime140 error 0xc0000020

every time i start windows, or try to open the notepad, paint or the screenshot apps, i get the following errors

is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error.Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support

Error status 0xc0000020

i tried reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable but the problem persists. ran a scan but it doesnt show any problems. cant restore the system to a previous point either

    I found a resolution.

    It was on a different forum...and it wanted me to download a 3rd part program...but I was able to figure it out.

    1. Run a Command Prompt as admin
    2. Perform the following in the command prompt: cd /d C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\ ren Microsoft.VCLibs.140.00.UWPDesktop_14.0.33728.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe VCLibs140UWP.OLD exit
    3. Restart Windows
    4. Test Notepad, Calculator, Photos, etc, etc

    problem started after installing the Windows 11 Insider Preview 23615.1000 (ni_prerelease) update. current version is 24H2 26058.1400

    When was the last time it worked properly? Have you made any changes to your computer recently? What is your current Windows operating system and version? Press Windows key+R to open Run then type: winver
