    Hi Arif,

My name is Igor, it's a pleasure for me to help others and I'll try to help you.

Yellow lock means the files are encrypted.

Do you have a backup copy of your old system or exported encryption certificate?

If not, I'm very sorry but your data are lost unfortunately.

You may try to use third party tools in attempts to decrypt your files, e.g. Advanced EFS Data Recovery tool, but chances are low.

However, you may keep your files as is, hoping that 20-30 years later an increasing CPU power will allow to crack this encrypting.

If you used quick formatting, your last resort is data recovering tools such as DMDE or Recuva. Maybe they will be able to find the bodies of the old registry files on the disk. In this case Advanced EFS Data Recovery tool may be helpful.

I sympathize with you, but this is the purpose of the encrypting - to block data access without keys.

    Hi Arif,

I'm Ahmed and I am here & happy to help.

    Sorry for having this issue

    1. Are you trying to access a file that was created using a different user account?
    2. Have you checked the file’s properties to confirm that you have full permissions to it?

in addition, Here are some steps you can follow to solve this issue:

    1. Go to the folders. Right-click and select properties. Go to the security tab, and click on edit. In the permissions window, click on the add button. Type “Everyone” in the textbox that says “enter object names to select” and then click the OK button.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Best regards,
