Issue with Display Language Not Changing Properly in Windows 11

Hello,

I've encountered a persistent problem with the display language in Windows 11 that I hope to get some assistance with.

Problem Description:

After upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11, I have been unable to change the system language from Spanish to English. The installation only allowed me to keep my files and settings by choosing the Spanish version, even though my display language was set to English. Upon attempting to switch the display language to English (both US and UK), I found that the Settings menu names still display in Spanish. Furthermore, using the search bar results in strings starting with an "@" symbol and enclosed within "{}".

Steps Taken:

  • I have tried applying both English US and English UK language packs through the system settings.
  • I have checked the Windows display language settings to ensure English is selected.
  • I have signed out and restarted the system multiple times after applying the language changes.
  • I have also experimented with applying a different language (Bulgarian), which worked fine and changed all the settings to the selected language without any issues. However, reverting to English still presents the same problem.

I have not performed a clean reinstallation as I would like to avoid that route if possible.

Could anyone please advise on how to resolve this issue so that the display language consistently reflects the chosen English setting across the system?

Thank you for your assistance.

Kind regards.

    Hello, Danielov Deskov Pencho.

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Based on the description, it seems you're encountering an issue with being unable to fully switch to English.

    I have some troubleshooting methods.

    1. Switch to Spanish (a language that displays properly)
    2. Create a local account. Click **** here to access documentation on creating a local account.
    3. Switch the account to the local account.
    4. Install the switch to English.
    5. Check if the issue is resolved.

If I have misunderstood, please correct me.

If this doesn't work, please reply. I'll go help you find other methods.

    Best regards.
