Blocking Scam?

My computer (Windows) was blocked and frozen and told me to call a number....I think it's a scam?

    Let me help you with this issue.

    I understand that you get a pop-up on your screen with a number to call.

    That is a fake alert, a tech-support scam.

    Best way to deal with it is to just close the window by hitting ALT + F4 on your keyboard.
