HID compliant Touchscreen missing and touchscreen stopped working after a windows 11 update

My touch screen HP laptop Pavillion suddenly stopped working in conjuction with a windows 11 update in January 2024.

After reading up and doing trouble shooting I discovered that under device manager human interfaces the driver for the touchscreen is missing. I worked with microsoft support online chat. He took control of the computer and saw the same things, he went to the HP support site and tried to reinstall something. He said it should work when the computer rebooted but the driver is still missing and of course the touchscreen still doesn't work. Yes this was why I bought this computer to have a touchscreen. I guess I can get back on with microsoft help but I'm afraid they'll just do the same thing.

Thanks Julia - Win+X is very helpful.

Hp does not provide a screen driver too - can you see if the following support document helps?

    Good luck!
