Continuing decrease in C-drive free space

My most recently posted inquiry was concerning huge etl files that were continually growing and eating up the free space on my C-drive. The two etl files (Win<Sys.32<Log Files) are now a little more than 3 GB and do not appear to be growing and thank you to the three forum members who contributed solutions to my original question. The issue with the continually diminishing free space on the C-drive has however not been solved.
I've run 4 virus scans with (my AV software-Kaspersky, Windows Defender, Malwarebytes and the Microsoft Scanning tool) and they were all clean. I have removed every program (including Office, ergo no more Outlook) on my C-drive with the exception obviously of the OS and it's made no difference, the free space continues to reduce. All hidden folder and files are visible in the C-drive folder and when I select all items, right click and select properties, the result says the folder size is 53 GB and the size on the disk is 63 GB. Is this normal, should there a 10 GB variance between the folder and disk? Currently the amount of used space on the disk is 79 GB which is a good deal more than the previous two figures. Is it possible there could be a virus/trojan on the hard drive independent of the OS that would be revealed if I uninstalled my Windows 10? Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you.

UPDATE: Those etl files have started to grow again and now total more than 14 GB.

Yes, this is normal, and the difference may be larger. Total disk usage counts the system files that you have no access to, and so they are not counted in total folder size.

As for ETL files, please check th solutions mentioned at https://superuser.com/questions/1611311/how-to-...
