Windows Edge unable to display an applet content

I have installed Java SDK, JRE, latest versions in Windows 11 OS x64. I am trying to read statistics chapter from legally purchased CD based on Applet. The content is displayed in browser, but the applet is not running. It has run in old Windows computers. Now it is not running. I tried to make Edge browser run in IE mode by allowing the setting Open all incompatible sites in IE mode. The applet is getting content from another website. It asked for enabling ActiveX control, but page not displaying. Can someone please point out where mistake is?
