I've been trying to revive my old laptop but when I was installing windows it lags, the circle sometimes stops and when it got to 71% the laptop freezes and the installation doesnt go any further. I tried turning it off and restarting.

Before I started reinstalling windows on that laptop it was really slow and i couldnt go any further

than desktop before it completely froze

I think one of the reasons might be the low ram because it has only 4gb.

The laptop also has a 1tb hdd so it could also be the reason

If needed I can give the rest of the specs

I would love to revive this laptop because I've spent around 1000 dollars on it.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

4GB of RAM is enough to install Windows 10, Windows will use approx. 2Gb of RAM for the operating system and you would have maybe 1.5GB for your apps, so that is not the problem.

The most likely cause of the problem is the USB you are using to install Windows with, try recreating the installation USB using the Media Creation Tool on another USB to see if the installation then succeeds.

    You have enough RAM.

1 TB Hard drive is fine.

What are the other SPECS in relation to your laptop.

CPU: TYPE, AMD or INTEL, SERIES as in CORE 2 or I Series or other, Frequency?

    RAM: DDR2 or DDR3?

    HARD DRIVE: Mechanical or SSD?

How are you trying to install the fresh Operating System.

    Via USB flash drive?

    Kind regards.
