Unknown Bitlocker encryption on a external seagate HDD

To give some background I have been using a acer 300 se laptop as a gaming laptop and also to keep photos. But recently built a PC as a daily driver and was hoping to use a external hdd used on my laptop to transfer everything to me PC. So on the first time turning it on for actual use I try to plug in and open the Seagate hdd through file explorer but a pop up appears saying there is a bitlocker encryption on the drive. Mind you since using this hdd I am 99% positive I have never turned on bitlocker on this drive. Now the problem I'm facing is this drive inaccessible holding many important files as I don't have a password nor recovery code to open this drive other than on my laptop. Now I could transfer all the data but this drive was quite expensive and I don't want to leave it useless. I have tried many online solutions to get the recovery code leading all to dead ends with no working option. So I just want any help to try to turn off the Bitlocker through the original laptop or how to get the recovery code or any other solution. Also was wondering if you bitlocker could automatically be turned on? Any help accepted.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Do you still have access to the acer 300 se laptop?

If you do, connect the external drive to the laptop

Open the old Control Panel. then set View to large icons

In there, you should see the Bitlocker applet, open that and you can decrypt the external drive from there, and it will then be usable on your new PC.
