Dump file creation failed due to error during dump creation. Is this causing my PC to crash or a result of the PC crashing? Can't figure out why my PC randomly reboots while playing video games.

I've been having this issue on and off for a couple months now and I cannot for the life of me figure out what the issue is. I've tried googling every error message and warning I've found around the time of each crash and implemented any fixes that were given, many of which were from people with similar problems. I thought I finally fixed it as I hadn't had a crash in a solid week or so, but just finally had one tonight after my first long gaming session in a while. It seems to happen most after playing games for a couple hours or more, but it has also happened within the first 20 minutes of playing games. I thought at first it was an overheating issue, GPU issue, CPU issue, Memory Issue, or a driver issue. I've run diagnostic scans for each of those, updated every driver I could find, all of which were already up to date other than my SSDs which is the last fix I tried that I thought fixed the issue. After updating my drives my PC all of a sudden said I was elligible for the windows 11 upgrade so I did that as well and ever since then I hadn't had a crash.

The crashes first started with a BSOD stating WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR which everything I read said that is normally a hardware issue. I've since replaced the power supply and completely formatted all 3 of my SSDs. The blue screen finally stopped but in the past couple months it became random system restarts with seemingly no error and the only critical error I get is the the system unexpectedly shutdown message. Below are the events that I am hoping will give us a clue as to what's causing the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated, this issue has been going on for many months now and is incredibly frustrating.

The previous system shutdown at 1:59:42 AM on ‎2/‎27/‎2024 was unexpected.

The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

    Hello Drent Barnard

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

From your description of the problem, I can sense that your computer still seems to have random freezes or crashes. Event ID 41 does point to hardware as well.

For the blue screen error code WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR, here is the corresponding analysis link:

Bug Check 0x124 WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR - Windows drivers | Microsoft Learn

By reading the information in the above link, we can know that the problem may be related to the heat dissipation of the device, CPU overclocking, CPU failure, memory defects, and so on.

You may have read this link, but from your description, it seems that you are prioritizing your investigation on the driver. This is commendable because it is the correct troubleshooting process. You subsequently replaced the power supply and formatted all 3 SSDS, so can I understand that you formatted your system disk and reinstalled the system?

If you have reinstalled the system and the problem still occurs randomly, then I think the problem may still be related to other hardware of the computer, such as the CPU or memory.

Failure to create the dump file indicates that there may be something wrong with the system, but I don't think this is the main cause of freezing or crashing the PC. If you still have enough test conditions, then you can try to replace the CPU on the motherboard, remove the memory and insert a new slot, or replace another new memory for troubleshooting.

But if you don't have the hands-on skills, or if you don't have enough hardware around to test, then I recommend that you send your computer to the after-sales support for inspection.

In my opinion, if the problem persists after reinstalling the system, it really means that the problem is not related to the system, unless there is a problem with the installation media you are using.

    Best regards,
