First keyboard inputs not working

Every time I leave my keyboard for a couple of seconds, the next first couple of inputs don't work, it takes 2 seconds for the keyboard to start working normally. When I'm in the flow of typing, it works fine, but as soon as I stop typing for a few seconds, it happens again. It is the integrated laptop keyboard, and I'm mostly sure the issue isn't hardware related because it just happened all of sudden (after a recent windows update, I'm not sure if this is related), and some other people have recently had the exact same issue.

I write code very often so this makes it extremely frustrating.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, welcome to the Microsoft community.

Based on your feedback, it seems like your keyboard has a two-second delay when you start typing again after it stops.

To confirm if the issue is related to Windows updates, you can try uninstalling the updates.

Go to Settings > Windows Update > Update History > Uninstall Updates.

Check if the issue persists after uninstalling the updates.

You can also try running system repair commands, which can help you check if your computer system is damaged.

    1. Search for CMD, find Command Prompt, and run it as an administrator.
    2. Enter the following commands one by one, make sure to execute the next command only after the previous one is completed:

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    SFC /Scannow

    1. After the scan is complete, you can check the scan information to see if any issues were detected and fixed.

Another method you can try is updating your computer's motherboard and keyboard drivers.

Then, see if your issue improves.

I hope the above information is helpful to you.

    Thank you for your response.

When opening the update settings I found a new update so I installed it and the problem got fixed. It was indeed an issue from the update. I hope this information will be helpful to other people.
