If that stripe is on your screen in BIOS or on the Dell screen before Widows boots up, then there is a hardware problem with the screen and it needs to be replaced.
My screen issue
After shutting my laptop off I fell asleep and when I woke up I immediately checked if my laptop was running which it was to my surprise and after logging in I noticed that my full screen Fortnite window was still open and then pressed alt +f4 which then messed with my screen and only showed vertical white lines and green area. After hours of updating drivers along with windows and restarting my laptop I was finally able to see most of my screen apart from a now black section which I can’t interact with. I then opened task manager and selected file explorer and ended the task which gave me another black screen and now I have to wait for about 15 minutes before I can see the display.

If that does not work, what is the make (Dell, Lenovo, Asus...etc) of your laptop?

Are you sure your screen did not get a knock, or was the screen closed down on top of something, that looks like a hardware issue?
