Security, access from an unknown device

Hello,

Recently, in the last 3 wks or so, I have received notifications that someone is trying to access my Microsoft Account.

Each time, I have changed the password.

These passwords would not be easy to guess.

My questions are:

  1. I get these notifications on my phone (I have 2 step verification). So, could these notifications be phishing? ie made to look like they come from Microsoft but aren't?
  2. After the last attempt, I again changed my password and I received another notification today. Again, these passwords aren't easy to guess. So, what am I experiencing? Where would these individuals obtain my credentials? I am pretty careful.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Those notifications may be a phishing scam or they may be legitimate, if they are on the 2FA app, they probably are genuine, but if you have enabled 2 Step Verification enabled, your account should be safe from any hacking attempts

Log into your Microsoft account on this link and check the account activity, do you see any strange logins you do not recognize and were they successful or blocked?
