PowerBI Composite Model: Can you reference the DirectQuery portion in M?

I enabled "DirectQuery for PBI datasets and AS" in the options menu, so that I could make a composite model with an existing PBI Dataset and mixing it with some local excel files.

However, I'm looking to make custom queries in M based off of the data in the DirectQuery. Is this possible? I do not see the DirectQuery data anywhere in M. Do I need to use a specific call in order to retrieve it? Or is it not possible?

    It sounds like the PBI Dataset access is happening in your report model, not in Power Query. If that's the case, you likely won't be able to directly access the Dataset from M.

    However, you might want to ask about this over on the Power BI Community site.
