Uninstalled bluetooth from device manager - Windows 10 - Dell XPS 17 9700

Hi,

The bluetooth on my laptop has given me issues in the past. The problem came up again, but trying previously fixes did not resolve the issue. The steps I took eventually led me to uninstalling bluetooth from the device manager.

Now I am not able to fix the issue, even after trying multiple methods. The things I have tried so far include:

  1. Downloading the drivers from the Dell Website
  2. Device manager - looking under "Show Hidden Devices", manually trying to create a legacy bluetooth device under Microsoft (the generic bluetooth adapter was not there)
  3. Troubleshoot Bluetooth devices (says bluetooth not available but that the laptop does have bluetooth capability)
  4. Went to the extreme and tried a factory reset so will not be able to use the "scan for hardware changes" on device manager :(
  5. Made sure bluetooth support services is running and set to automatic on the windows key + r "services.msc" page

What can I do from here?

Thanks so much for your help.

    Hello there,

    I am Jaspreet Singh.

You mentioned you had issues earlier that caused you to try and reinstall the driver. What issues were you having?

So far from the symptoms it looks like the bluetooth adapter might have gone faulty.
