PC/device needs repair Error Code 0xc000a004 when trying to boot off a system restore USB. This is going onto a new SSD, the previous answers appear for those who are attempting to reinstall on a drive with a recovery partition already there

    Dave,

    I was using a scandisk 32GB USB3 USB stick. I created the restore USB using the MS create a recovery USB process. I created this USB just before I started the process. Also it took almost 10 Hrs to create the Recovery USB

    2> No, there was no other drive connected at the time. Just the SSD

    What type of USB are you trying to use on that new SSD, is that a bootable Windows 10 USB or some restore USB you have created from the previous installation and if so, what method did you use to create that USB?

    Is there an other drive connected to the PC that contains the old Windows installation?
