Random BSODs while gaming

Hi,

Over the past year I have been getting BSODs while gaming. They are fairly frequent but random. The stop codes have varied over time, but have included ones such as UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION, KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR, and SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION, among others. Lately I have mostly been getting the UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION error. This only happens while playing games, seemingly the more demanding ones.

Here is a typical blue screen that I have been getting recently:

Things I have tried:

  • Reinstalling the games
  • Stress testing my components (CPU, GPU, VRAM, memory, power): no errors
  • Checking SSD health (optimal)
  • Running CHKDSK and SFC tools
  • Reinstalling Windows (though I kept my files)
  • Re-seating all of my components, except for the CPU
  • Removing my second SSD entirely
  • Running the Driver Verifier, which produced a repeatable BSOD on startup and the following minidump file: 111723-3875-01.zip
  • Probably more that I'm forgetting

This is driving me insane. Please help.

Hi AnalogKnight, thank you for your reply.

I uninstalled all Razer drivers from my system. Unfortunately this didn't help, as when I started playing a game another blue screen appeared:

This one wasn't even displayed correctly on my monitor.

Ok, I ran Driver Verifier again and Windows booted normally. I launched a game and quickly got another CRITICAL PROCESS DIED blue screen. However, no minidump file was created. This is odd because I have this feature enabled in the system settings. I don't know what to do.

    Hi A&K,

It didn't make one. I can try running Driver Verifier again. For some reason my BSODs don't create dump files unless I'm using Driver Verifier. I'll do that shortly.

Hello, I'm A&K, here to help.

Your dump file shows that the Razer driver is causing the blue screen.

If you have any related software installed, please try uninstall them completely.
